Dallas Courier Gunned Down/Killed Near Dallas Bank

Phillip Washington was gunned down while dropping off a large amount of money at State Bank and Trust on North Central Expressway and Lee Street. Police say the gunmen appeared to have been waiting for him.

"The police told us this morning he was ambushed by three guys leaving the bank," said Fredrick Washington, Phillip's brother. "They took his gun and took his truck and shot him in the back."

Phillip was a Dallas County Constable before starting his own business, and he was well known throughout the community.

"They could have just left him," said Fredrick. "I just hope they catch them and do what they got to do."

"To those guys, I really don't have to much to say, but whatever goes around will come back around," said Philana Washington, Phillip's daughter.

Dallas police say the gunmen got away in a 2007 Dodge pickup truck with license plate number 49Y-YH5.
